Return To Narnia – Prince Caspian
It’s almost that time again.
Prince Caspian (2nd in the Chronicles of Narnia series) will be in theaters on May 16th.
Now, for those “adults” that hold the opinion that the Chronicles of Narnia is strictly a fairy tale for children, we offer to you the words of C. S. Lewis, the author of the series, in his letter to his daughter:
“Someday, you’ll be old enough to read fairy tales again.”
Sound Advice. The Chronicles of Narnia are more than fairy tales. This classic series is written for the sole purpose to illustrate Biblical truths. This second installment promises to continue that tradition.
In this installment, the children are once again summoned to Narnia by Aslan (representing the Lion of Judah – in case you missed that). No longer the enchanted, wonderful world they encountered in their first visit, they have been brought back to help in restoring Narnia to its former glory.
This particular episode in this series is very timely. Just as the children are called upon to restore Narnia to what once was, so too are we called (as children of God) into today’s world to bring forth truth and light into a dark and oppressive world that is held in the grip of evil.
The story can best be summed up in two words: faith and trust.
